This policy explains what data empireamateur.com (https://www.empireamateur.com, the “Site”) processes when you use it, and why. The Site is operated by admin (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for this processing. Contact: [email protected].

In short

You can watch videos without an account. Browsing without an account only sets the cookies needed for the age screen and your cookie choice, plus your viewing history if you accept it.
Apart from short-lived technical logs, the Site never stores your IP address in clear: where it needs to recognize a visitor, it keeps a keyed fingerprint of the address instead.
We do not use third-party analytics tools or social media trackers, and we do not sell your personal data.
The Site shows ads, some of them supplied by third-party ad networks that have their own privacy policies.

Data we process

When you visit the Site

Technical data. To deliver pages and videos, our servers and our content delivery network receive your IP address, your browser type and the pages you request. They may keep them briefly in technical logs used for security and troubleshooting.
Views. When you play a video, we count at most one view per visitor, per video and per hour. To do so, a keyed fingerprint of your IP address is kept in our cache for one hour, then deleted. We also record when a video was last watched, without anything that identifies you, to show what is being watched now.
Likes. A like is stored with a keyed fingerprint of your IP address, so that each visitor can like a video only once. It is kept as long as the like exists; you can remove your like with the same button.
Reports. When you report a video, we store the reason, your optional comment and a keyed fingerprint of your IP address, so that we can recognize repeated reports. The fingerprint is erased after 90 days.
Anti-abuse limits. To protect the Site against abuse, such as repeated sign-in attempts, temporary counters linked to your connection are kept for at most one hour.
Player settings. The video player saves its settings, such as the volume, in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device.

About keyed fingerprints

A keyed fingerprint is a one-way code (HMAC-SHA256) computed from your IP address with a secret key kept outside our database. It only tells whether two requests come from the same address; without the secret key, your address cannot be recovered from it. For IPv6 connections, the fingerprint is computed from the /64 network prefix, which usually corresponds to one subscriber, rather than from the full address.

If you create an account

Account data: username, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), sign-up date, and whether your email address is confirmed.
Profile data you choose to add: display name, bio and country.
Your activity: your comments, your favorite videos and the members you follow.

Your profile page is public by default. It shows your display name, username, bio, country, sign-up month and number of followers; you can make it private in your account settings. Your favorites are private by default; you can make them public. Your comments are public and show your name.

We use your email address only to confirm your account, to let you reset your password, and to warn you if someone tries to register again with your address. We send no newsletter or marketing email.

Downloads are reserved for members who have confirmed their email address. A download link is personal and expires after a short time.

Cookies

The Site uses these cookies:

age_verified: remembers that you confirmed you are 18 or older, so that the age screen is not shown again. Kept for 1 year.
cookie_consent: remembers your choice on the cookie banner (accept or decline). Kept for 1 year.
view_history: set only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. It holds the last 20 videos you watched on the Site, to show the “Continue watching” section of the home page. It is encrypted and cannot be read by scripts. Kept for 30 days, and deleted if you decline.
A session cookie and XSRF-TOKEN: set when you sign in, register or open the account forms, not when you simply browse. They keep you signed in and protect the forms against forgery. They expire after a period of inactivity.
A “remember me” cookie (its name starts with remember_): set only if you tick Remember me when you sign in. It keeps you signed in on that device until you sign out, for at most 400 days.

Declining on the banner only turns off the viewing history; the other cookies are needed for the Site to work and are used either way. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

Third-party ad networks whose ads appear on the Site may set their own cookies or use similar technologies. These are governed by their own privacy policies, not by our cookie banner.

Advertising

The Site is funded by advertising. Ads are chosen by our own ad server, which may display ads supplied by third-party ad networks. To choose an ad and count its displays and clicks, our ad server records the type of device, the operating system, the browser, the country derived from your IP address, the time, and a keyed fingerprint computed from your IP address and browser. It does not store your IP address. Detailed records are kept for a short time; after that, only aggregated statistics are kept.

Our pages ask your browser not to send the address of the page you are viewing (the “referrer”) to other websites, including ad networks and advertisers, when it loads their content or when you follow a link to them.

Why we use your data

To provide the Site and your member account, as set out in our Terms of Service.
To keep the Site secure, prevent abuse, count views and likes, handle reports, and show and measure ads: our legitimate interests.
To keep your viewing history: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with Cookie settings.
To meet our legal obligations, including cooperation with the authorities.

Who receives your data

Our hosting, content delivery network and email providers, which process data on our behalf to run the Site and send account emails.
Third-party ad networks, for the ads they supply.
The authorities, when the law requires it or to report illegal content (see DMCA and Content Removal).

How long we keep data

Account data, comments, favorites and follows: as long as your account exists. When you ask us to close your account, we delete your account data within one month.
Likes: as long as the like exists.
Reports: the report itself is kept as a record of our moderation; its IP fingerprint is erased after 90 days.
View fingerprints: 1 hour. Anti-abuse counters: at most 1 hour.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, or under the privacy laws of some US states), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict its processing, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

You can edit your profile in your account settings, delete your comments, remove your likes and favorites, and change your cookie choice with Cookie settings. For anything else, including closing your account, write to [email protected], from the email address of your account if the request concerns it. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Minors

The Site is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe that a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
